This thesis is an English-Chinese simultaneous interpretation practice report. The task described in this thesis is “Blizzcon” of year 2015, an simultaneous interpretation task of which the author was in charge. The contexts from Blizzcon has its features as well as those from professional conferences. Therefore, the key chapters of this thesis are “Interpretation Preparation” and “Case Study”. In this thesis, the author divides the “Interpretation Preparation” into three parts: “Vocabulary Preparation”, “Similar Context Preparation”, and “Live Preparation”, and specifically describes the content of each part. Focusing on the speeches given by Blizzard Entertainment employees, in the chapter “Case Study”, the author analyzes the problems that may occur during the interpretation process in condition of live broadcasting. These problems includes: poor clarity in professional terms, poor consideration for the audience, poor simplification, omission in interpreting stories or classics and a lack of usage on non-verbal information. Meanwhile the author analyzes the features of part of Blizzcon speeches, including high pace of speech and accents. Then the author discusses the strategies and solutions to cope with these problems and features and apply the strategies and solutions to the examples from this interpretation task. In the end, the author concludes this interpretation task, and puts forward and outlook for the future.
