A Study Of Missing Translation And Misinterpretation In Chinese - English Alternative Interpreting

There are two problems in the C-E consecutive model interpreting of the speech delivered by Premier Li Keqiang in Davos forum. One problem is omission and the other is misinterpreting. Substantially, they are caused by inadequate English language proficiency and preparation. And the lack of subject knowledge and inappropriate effort distribution also lead to the problems. To solving these problems need to improve language ability and to improve the quality of interpreting. This thesis puts forward the ways to improve the ability of using target language from the aspects of language input,language output and self-evaluation, and to improve the quality of interpretation through the strategy of constructing knowledge schemata, optimizing energy allocation and using interpreting skills and so on. Hoping this thesis can provide guidance in C-E consecutive interpreting practice and effectively avoid the omission and misinterpreting in the future interpreting practice.
