With the continuous development of the society, more and more attention is paid to the mental health of teenagers. Mental health not only means that one is without psychologic obstacle or mental illness, but also means he/she can better adapt to the environment and keeps a good psychological state as well as leads a positive life. There are many relevant factors that influence teenagers’mental health. The thesis will starts with two factors, attributional pattern and mental elasticity to know the attributional pattern, mental elasticity and the mental health situation of the teenagers and explores the relationship between the three, by which it can rich theoretical researches for teenagers’attributional pattern, mental elasticity and mental health so that it can help to enhance teenagers’mental health level. This thesis adopts Multidimensional Multi-attributional Causality Scale (MMCS), the Resilience Scale for Chinese Adolescent (RSCA) and Mental Health Inventory of Middle-School Students (MMHI-60). It chooses 645 middle school students from six grades as subjects to do the sample survey, for the purpose of exploring the characteristics of these three factors, teenagers’attributional pattern, mental elasticity and the mental health. It studies the differences of the demography variables in terms of the attributional pattern, mental elasticity and the mental health situation of teenagers by means of SPSS 17.0. Meanwhile, correlation and regression analyses are made. The thesis also conducts mediation test on the three factors by Amos 17.0. Finally, structural equation model about the three factors is built. The results are as follows.First, the way teenagers employ for analyzing the outcomes is internal attributional pattern. They especially attribute the outcomes to effort, and rarely to situations, fortune and other ways of external attribution. As for the gender, both boys and girls tend to internal attribution. Boys are more inclined to attribute outcomes to effort. The attributional patterns differ in different grades. To be exact, junior high school students are more apt to attribute to effort than senior high school students. Junior school freshmen are more inclined to inner attributional pattern which attributes more to the effort while senior three students tend to adopt external attributional pattern which attributes more to the situation. Besides, fresh students of high middle school are more apt to external attributional pattern which attributes more to the fortune.Second, the mental elasticity of teenagers is of average level and its overall condition is good, especially in active cognition. Girls get high scores than boys in terms of interpersonal relationship. The aggregate score of mental elasticity and each dimension do not differ a lot in different grades. On the whole, there are some mild problems in teenagers’mental health. Boys’aggregate score of mental health is higher than that of girls and it is of significant difference. Boys also score more than girls in term of stubborn, feeling of study pressure, maladjustment, unstable emotion and psychological imbalance and the difference is obvious, which shows that girls has better mental health level than boys. As for the grades, there are some differences in mental health level. Senior high school students has get higher scores for mental health than junior school students, among which senior three students get the highest score, showing that junior high school students has higher mental health level than senior high school students and they have fewer psychological problems.Fourth, the relations between each pair of teenagers’ attributional pattern, mental elasticity and the mental health are significant. Hereinto, the ability, situation and fortune in teenagers’ attributional pattern show a negative relation with the aggregate score of mental health and each dimension. Teenagers’mental elasticity has a significant positive correlation with mental health. Of attributional patterns, teenagers’external attributional pattern (situation and fortune) has a negative relation with the aggregate score of mental elasticity and each dimension.Fifth, teenagers’attributional pattern has function about backward prediction of mental health. Mental elasticity has function about forward prediction to mental health. Attributional pattern has function about backward prediction to mental elasticity. Through attributional pattern and mental elasticity, remarkable prediction about mental health status can be achievement.Sixth, teenagers’external attributional pattern (situation and fortune) acts as the mediator between internal attributional pattern (ability and effort) and mental health. Mental elasticity acts as the mediator between attributional pattern and mental health and attributional pattern can have direct effects on mental health and also can influence mental health via mental elasticity.
