Aim: As the visual impaired students of middle students is a special group of students, this research investigated both parenting styles and personality traits of visual impaired students of middle students and ordinary students of middle students, to make clear that whether there are differences between ordinary students and visual impaired students in the way of family education,and whether there are differences between ordinary students and visual impaired students in students’ personality traits. Through the survey of personality traits for the visual impaired students, we can understand that visual impaired students’ personality characteristics and personality tendency, further more, we can also understand the relationship between parenting style and personality traits of visual impaired students of middle students.Method: This research on visual impaired students of middle students and ordinary students of middle students’ personality traits and parenting style, reading the documents and combing the basis of previous researchers, chose appropriate questionnaire ——s- EMBU-C and Eysenck Personality Questionnaire( EPQ)as measurement tools, on the 450 middle school students personality traits and parenting styles were investigated, including 100 visual impaired students and 350 people in ordinary middle school students. By t test and analysis of variance(ANOVA), exploring the parenting style and personality traits of visual impaired students and ordinary schools of middle school students, to find out the relationship between visual impaired students’ parenting style and personality traits.Results: In general, in the six dimensions of parenting style, the scores of ordinary middle school students is higher than visual impaired students; in the introversion-extraversion and lie personality traits, the scores of ordinary middle school students is higher than visual impaired students; but ordinary middle school students’ psychoticism scores below the visually impaired students.Conclusion: These results showed that parenting style of visual impaired students have an influence on personality traits, some of the inappropriate parenting behaviors may affects the formation of some bad personality traits of children. As a result, parents can change their unreasonable way of treating their kids, pay more attention to the training of the child’s personality, and guide the healthy development of their personality by a good family environment.
