In recent years, with the China’s economic and social flourished, teaching Chinese as a second language is quickly evolving. Not only are there many outstanding theories of academic researches, but in practice teaching methods are also steadily growing. Of course, there are a lot of problems need to be improved. Vocabulary teaching is the key point of the teaching Chinese as a second language, the most important part of modern Chinese vocabulary is the idiom, as the important and difficult aspects of teaching which coupled with its own contains a profound cultural connotation. Offering a proper guidance to the students for their idioms learning, not only arousing their curiosity about learning, but also helping them improve the skills in Chinese communication, broadening their knowledge for a variety of Chinese cultural connotation.At present, the academic communities have basically reached a consensus for Chinese vocabulary of the general vocabulary in terms of theory and practice of teaching, but idiom vocabulary has not achieved an agreement. The idiom study of teaching Chinese as a second language about how to teach have already attracts more attention, but the teaching outline of the development and research of idioms is not so much. In reality of Chinese language teaching, there are conditions that teachers do not know what the idioms should teaching and learners do not know what the idioms should studying.This paper make it as a starting point, and try out to make a teaching outline of Chinese idioms through the research of the idiom teaching status quo, so explore solutions to the problem appear in the idioms teaching about what to teach. In this paper, firstly we make the definition of corpus, and arrangement collected idioms; secondly, we set up the outline of idioms according to the commonly used degree; finally, we analyzed the outline we built, and point out its significance and deficiencies of this paper.
