A Study On The Problem Of Social Integration After The Release Of Minor Offenders

Currently, our country is in profound transformation period, and the number ofslight criminals is higher than before. That has become a big public security problem,which cause our great importance to. Pay more attention to the social integration ofslight criminals is the need of reality. The existing researches about social integrationmost focus on traditional vulnerable group, like rural migrant workers, the floatingpopulation, land-lost farmers and so on. There is little attention to slight criminals.Researchers prefer ex-convicts to slight criminals. Through literature review, Ianalyzed the difference about slight criminals and grave criminals in social integration,the content of social integration of slight criminals, Yan Jingyao’s research aboutcrime in China. Reading foreign theory on deviant sociology was helpful for me tounderstand Chinese social problems.I selected10slight criminals to do case interviews. To acquaintance whatobstacles they have faced and how to make them integrate into society, I devised somequestions to slight criminals. To acquaintance what social environment and potentialresources they have faced, I devised some questions to their relatives and socialworkers. Through interviews, I found that the social exclusion is the main obstacle,including political exclusion, cultural exclusion and social relations exclusion. Systemrejection is another obstacle that slight criminals face. Psychology integration lies inslight criminals, their irrational beliefs caused obstacles to themselves and others. Ialso found that the increased number of slight criminals is the event of socialtransition, so the government should assume guarantee for them. The perfection oflaw caused the increasing number of ignorance crime, the synchronous developmentof relationship in the economic development and the crime rate, the higher divorcerate caused female crime, all these cases show that slight criminals are not evils. Afteraccepting the punishment, they should enjoy equal rights of citizens.I think in order to achieve the social integration of slight criminals. Firstly, weshould change the society defined procedures. Secondly, we should perfect the law,safeguard the legitimate rights and interests of slight criminals. The most importantthing is that the social work will help slight criminals to achieve social integration.
