A Tentative Study Of China 's Urban Diplomacy In The Era Of Globalization

International interactions among the city actors serves as a new issue for studies oninternational relations. This paper, constructing an analytical framework of the modelsof the Chinese city diplomacy, consists of three parts: first to answer the basicquestions of the city diplomacy, including the definition of city diplomacy, theoreticalperspective of city diplomacy and the features of city diplomacy; second to presentthe development history of the city diplomacy, from the changes of the roles of citiesin international interactions, the common play of globalization and regionalization, tothe formation of the global city network, from which we may see how the changes ofthe roles of the cities help to clearly define the international identity of the city actors;and third to build an analytical framework of the models of the Chinese citiesdiplomacy from the views of city, state and international interactions, which is thecore part of this paper.
