The fifty-six ethnic minorities of our country work in unity and closecooperation for the target of building a well-off society. But in recent years,national events often occurred in minority areas, and some even evolved into massincidents which seriously affected the normal work and life order and social stabilityof national regions.Currently our country is in the important period facing strategic opportunities ofsocial development, the social contradictions are more obvious than before, andcomplex social environment form a major challenge to ethnic affairs management inethnic minority areas. In the period of social development transition, the widelyapplication of the medium such as mobile phones, the Internet (microblogging), newsmedia, makes ethnic history and culture, religion and other cultural power changedsignificantly. In the case of lacking effective channels of interest demands, ethnicminority people often take actions such as gathering, series, group visit, siege, smash,and some of them evolved in the direction of mass incidents. If the relevantgovernment departments do not take proper measures and respond to the masses, itwill cause a vicious cycle of events. Therefore, research and recognize national massincidents, maintain the political and social stability in ethnic minority areas will havegreat importance to the development of minority areas. In ethnic minority areas of ourcountry, only with strengthening the national mechanism construction of localgovernment about mass incidents, improving short-term coping mechanism andlong-term change at the same time, completing the prevention, treatment andrehabilitation work comprehensively, preventing and cracking down on all ethnicseparatist and sabotage activities, can we achieve the permanent stability of the ethnicminority areas of our country.
