The developed modern industrial civilization enhanced the ability of humantransforming nature greatly, made the social history continue to leap forwarddevelopment rapidly. In the process of human transforming nature, on the one hand tocreate hitherto unknown enormous material wealth, but on the other hand what hepaid dearly is that the destruction of their habitats and imbalance of ecosystems. Thepollution, over exploitation of natural resources and a series of problems haveseriously affected people’s normal life and even the basic survival. The deterioratingliving conditions repeatedly warn us: what standards should be used to measure all theachievements we made in modern times?Marx had been aware of issues related to ecological destruction and ecologicalprotection, ecological thought up Marx expressed in their classic literary works, wecan sum up a kind of ecological value of Marx’s view, the ecological values thatnature is valuable, and argues that it is necessary to balance the ecological system toachieve human, social, natural harmony and unity, the discussion of the dialecticalrelations between man and nature is the basic principle guiding us in dealing with therelationship between man and nature.In this paper, through the study of Marx’s ecological thought and theory, explainsthe theoretical sources of Marx’s ecological values, basic content and the erasignificance in today’s world, indicating the standpoint that if we want to achieve thegreat task of building a socialist ecological civilization, we must inherit and developMarx’s ecological ideas, make Marx’s ecological values for the theoretical basis of theconstruction of ecological civilization, advocating people respect for nature, protectthe ecological and walk the road of sustainable development to protect environment,finally to find out a scientific elementary path to solve the dilemma of human beings.
