Party politics transition is a common phenomenon in European as well as American Countries,and the transition of US democratic and republican parties is particularly striking. The theoryof the political parties’ decline runs throughout the whole course of US party politicstransition, which experienced the phases of decline, stability and renaissance. The transitionof party politics actually reflected the different opinions of democratic and republican partiesin various realms during different developing periods after World War II, so as to adapt to thechanged situations such as reforming of politic and economy, social restructuring andmodernizing of governance. However, the US party politics transition also obey the logicsimilar to the law of value in economics, which means both passive decline and positiverenaissance step forward hand in hand along the wavy path within certain constraints. Bothparties’ inclination to compromise with each other provided that constraints. In the long run,the case that the two parties’ convergence becomes into the direction of US party politicstransition.The United States is among the international communities with advanced democratic system,and its party politics is fully developed. It is true that the original functions of political partiesare weakened and the tendency of party convergence becomes evident, but this does not meanthe elimination of political party because those changes are happened under the backgroundthat democratic systems has been built and been becoming mature in the United States. Theparty politics of the United States is in the front ranks globally in the sense that USdemocratic and republican parties are competing soundly with each other within thedemocratic mechanism and are prone to compromise when divergence occurs so as to avoidblind struggles. Besides, both the democratic and republican parties of the United States areaccepting non-party supervision and restrictions from the civil society to effectively preventthe following phenomena from democratic political life, such as populist personality politics,asylum and factional politics as well as campaign politics. Thus, the development of US partypolitics provides modern democratic-transition countries a proper reference in both lesseningchaotic party politics and realizing democratic consolidation...
