A Study On The Political System Of Miao 's

Yi Lang political system, formed in the process of the Miao society, is a village political system. It generally exists in the Miao society, generateing long time ago and roughly formed the end of clan society. Yi Lang political system is make up of many political roles, such as Lang Tou, Li Lao,Huo Lutou, and Gui shi. With clear political distribution, Lang Tou has the highest authority to command all the affairs. Li Lao’s duty is to intervene the social dispute. Huo Lutuo is responsible for production activity and Gui shi is in charge of religious affairs. Yi Lang political system is called "the versatile government" in traditional Miao society. Politically, It can rule and control the village order. Economically, It organized agricultural production and adjusted economic system. Militarily, It dealt with ethnic relations and managed the village public affairs. According to giving full play to effect of the roles, Yi Lang political system not only impacts the movement and development for the Miao society’s political life, to some extent, it also can restrict the whole national political life.With the change of the society, especially after the People’s Republic of China setting up and the state power going deep into the Miao areas, the Yi Lang political system is continually impacted by the state power system.Neither structure nor function are weaken,which leads it has’t the whole structure any more in most Miao areas. Most public power that exercised by the Yi Lang political system, have replaced by thenational grass-roots political power and the grassroots self-governing organizations. However, to some aspects of the Miao social life, such as intervening the common disputes, organising the festival activities and religious affairs, the Yi Lang political system also plays an important role. Researching on Yi Lang political system neither to find out its historical limitations, nor to affirm its historical function and uniqueness. We hope to find out the development law and contemporary value of Yi Lang political system, which is good for our country and Miao society. Thus, the Yi Lang political system can be bring into the state power system, and let it to assist the national grass-roots political power,which can make the most of charging the Miao society and their life. Making good use of the Yi Lang political system’ reasonable core, not only it can reduce the governance cost, and effectively support the nationalgrass-roots political power’operation, but also has a certain significance to enhance positivity of the Miao people to take part in the political life, maintain the fundamental right s of the Miao people and be in favour of the development of the Miao society.
