Along with the fast development of information technology, computer industry and Internet techniques, Embedded System (ES) has already became one of the most noticeable focus of IT industry. The Remote Digital Video Monitoring System (RDVMS) based on ES is a hot project in embedded application & development field now. Compared with traditional video monitoring system, RDVMS is more suitable for industry control, civil application, safety system of bank and government and so on, by excellence of high dependability, esay net-buildup and able-remote-monitoring.Development of RDVMS relates to various techniques about software and hardware of ES such as video coding, network transmitting, wireless transmitting, Operating System (OS) and so on. It depends on embedded hardware platform and embedded OS. In this paper, board based on multimedia embedded processor PXA270 is chosen as platform. PXA270 is an XScale architecture, ARM core processor. For abundant interface and ARM core's high performance, low power-wasting, the board can satisfy all requirement of whole system development entirely. Embedded Linux which is becoming main OS in embedded field is chosen as embedded OS. Embedded Linux which source code is freely aviliable to everyone, strong network-support, abundant resource can be applied in various platforms. By reason of development of Linux, high-performance and low-cost RDVMS may come true.In this paper we focus our attention on whole development of ES, and take more time on research of main process. In the first, background and basic theory is presented. Then an embedded Linux application terminal included building of development environment, migrating of embedded Linux and so on is builded entirely based on PXA270 board. Afterward, a new model of video capturing is developed in detail based on above-mentioned theory. And then old drivers are modified and configured aimed at its lack. Video coding, wireless network transmitting and GPRS connecting are researched ulteriorly. Based on these key techniques, scheme of RDVMS architecture of project and correlative models are worked out. Successful scheme has reference significance and practical value for the engineers who are studying the application of consumptive electronic field under ES. Product based on it will be more practical and economical in market. |
