At Present, with the development of image compressing technology and signal processing technology, compressed image data not only can decrease the capacity of data and bandwidths, but also can be transmitted through general channels, such as video TV, videophone, etc. How to fully utilize existing resources by meeting the demand that people control and communicate with the picture videos, it is an urgent subject to be solved.In fact, it might not need activity picture transmitting to amalgamate actually in a lot of implementation. Transmitting one static picture right away in order of magnitude of second is enough. Based on this demand,this paper deals with the issue of image compressing and implementation based on digital signal processor.Based on the JPEG2000 has excellent function for image compression algorithm,the system has been designed surround the JPEG2000 compression standard.At first,the article design the overall system, which define CMOS image sensors as image source,the Blackfin DSP as processors, and the FPGA as part of the logic control and wavelt transforms. The design of the overall system used the mode way.In the different chapter, the molule function, for example: Video collection module, 2D discrete wavelet transform, EBCOT, bit-plane encoder, the adaptive arithmetic encoder, codestream formation, etc…have been analysised and designed.The article went on to the entire workflow system briefly described. In the ensuing chapters, it analyses and designs for the detailed functional module– image gathering modules and JPEG2000 compressed processing modules respectively. Video collection module is a major chip OV9650.After a simple presentation of its performance and structural characteristics, elaborated the memory address generated and wavelet transform on the basis of the FPGA. JPEG2000 compression processing module is another focus. After the introduction of the JPEG2000 algorithm and the major steps, focus on the algorithms implementation in the DSP.Finally, interpret the entire system integration and debugging results, given a number of ideas to improve the design and complete the JPEG2000 standard from the FPGA alone based on personal experience.
