ERP (Enterprise Resources Planning) system becomes the common tool in modern enterprise management and operation, and is showing its importance in decision-making and enterprise development.During the ERP implementation process, the method and theory of project management is more and more being used in it. This article aims to manage ERP system effectively and implement ERP project successfully. In this paper, firstly the difference and comparability of the traditional project management and ERP project management are discussed, then the application of general process and method in project management to ERP project is studied. In addition, the normal process and method of ERP project management and implementation are discussed.With continuous increase of unsuccessful ERP cases and in fear of their customers and potential customers distrusting ERP, many ERP system provider and ERP consultant explain away unsuccessful ERP cases and try to provide various solutions, but these solutions are very difficult to implement or even impracticable to the majority of ERP projects. As a skillful client ERP implementation project manager, the author gives a detailed analysis on these solutions, such as analyze the implementation method of enterprise and ERP consultant, analyze the insufficiency and mistake in the period of ERP project management and sum up the related countermeasure.Through empirical study on many ERP cases, the author aims to find some effective solutions for the foreign enterprises in China to manage ERP project, and help them to avoid following the same old disastrous road.
