In the age of knowledge-driven economy, excellent knowledge management (KM) is eagerly required. Knowledge sharing (KS) is a key subject of KM. However, knowledge sharing is severely embarrassed by the monopolistic nature of knowledge. Therefor, it is quite important to build a reasonable and effective system of motiviation. The abroad and domestic scholars have done a large amount of theoretical research on the motive system of KS and proposed a lot of principles and strategies for it. But few empirical studies have been done specified in the motivation of KS. This article studies the process of KS in the view of subject in KS and conclude the obstacles of KS. Considering integrated motive theory by Robert House, this article examines the effects of motive factors on the "complex man". In this article, quetionares are designed to collect data reflecting the actual conditions in companies and a Linear Structural Relations (LISREL) model is builded to describe the relations between motive factors and the activeties of learning and imparting. There are four categaries of determinants in the model: inner motivation, atmosphere of KS in the company, manager's (leader's) and regulational factors and the factors about rewards. As the methodology, this article combines the theoretical research and empirical research to develop an understanding on the factors effectting the activities of learning and imparting. This article can be divided into two parts: the theoretical part and the LISREL model part. By the theoretical research, several points below can be concluded. Firstly, the front part of chapter 2 analyzes the roles of the people ingaged in KS and describes the conversions between these roles. As a viewpoint, a conclusion of accelerating the conversion is made in chapter 2. Secondely, in ยง2.1.2, this article examines the KS in the view of knowledge flow (KF). A drive model of KF is introduced to describe the "three types of forces": "driving force", "suction", and "force of field". Thirdly, by combining the roles, KF model and economical analysis of KS, the article induces a set of obstructions specified in KS. Fourthly, based on "complex man", this article introduced hypothesis of "knowledge worker"and a set of motive factors specified in KS are proposed by the help of House's equation. Fifthly, based on the research above, some hypothesis are proposed which emphasize the factors of inner motiviation, force of field (atmosphere of KS) and the people's belief in KS. The hypothesis also considers that the learning and imparting will accelerate each other. In the LISREL model part(in chapter 4), data collected by questionare is used to build a LISREL model including path diagram and equations. This model is a mathematical tool for further study. In the end, the hypothesis above is tested by the model.
