Team has become a new area of applied psychology in the west and China. However, there are few empirical researches on team effectiveness in China. In the present research, exploratory factor analysis was used to test the construct validity of 'the team leadership practices inventory (LPI)' and 'the team effectiveness questionnaire'. And the impact of team leadership on team effectiveness was studied. The results showed preliminary evidence of the LPI and the team effectiveness questionnaire. The LPI could be divided into inspirational motivation, charismatic leadership, challenging the process and individual consideration. The team effectiveness questionnaire could be divided into task performance and contextual performance. Regression analysis showed that there were cause and effect relationship between team's transformational leadership and its effectiveness. And inspirational motivation, charismatic leadership, individual consideration had positive relationships with team effectiveness. But the relationship between challenging the process and team effectiveness was not significant. In addition, among different team task types, it can be found that there are some diversities in the impact of team's transformational leadership on team effectiveness.
