The concept of commercial bank business process reengineering (BPR) is brought up on the following condition: The customer's need, the exterior competition of the commercial bank and the information technology has experienced a huge change. The customers need fast and diversified service, which urge the commercial bank to transit from the originally product-oriented process into customers- oriented one. The change of the bank' s exterior competition environment ask it to respond to the market environment quickly so as to keep the original market share; The development of information technology offer technological support for BPR.BPR is divided into active process and non- active process according to whether it can add the value. The objects of BPR are those non- Active ones which can' t create value, we usually adopt measures of changing orders, cancellation, automation to reengineer the process. BPR mainly includes banking business process reengineering and management process reengineering. This article briefly states the commercial bank' s retailing business, credit business and customer relation management on the basis of practice and suggest the method of classified management of the credit business.It's impossible for us to finish the BPR in short time because of the limitation of recognization, environment and technology, it's a long process. We should assess the result of it during the process in order that we can have a subjective cognition as well as a control of BPR. Because the assessing system mainly depends the accounting index, it is unilateral and nearsighted, so this article suggests that we assess the performance of the BPR by balanced scorecard (BSC).BSC is an overall assessing system which investigate the organization' s performance and comprehensively consider the inter- related index system such as the bank' s financial index and non- financial index, short- term index and long- term index, result index and motives index, strategic target and target in different levels, so we can say it's a unique, overall and balanced performance assessing system. Through assessing the four aspects of finance, customers, process, study and ability, BSC embodies the commercial bank's operation and management ideas of enhancing operating ability by study,changing the original process, obtaining customers' satisfaction, so as to realize the bank's financial target finally.Firstly, BSC resolves the targets of BPR, sets performance assessing system with reference of historical data and data of the same line. Secondly, compare the real index with the performance index; count the scores according to the actual performance. Finally obtain the scores of each department and each employee of the bank. Thus, we can realize a multilateral assessment of the BPR.
