Study On The Environment And The Countermeasures Of China's Rare Earth Industry

To begin with, this paper introduces the storage, the production and theapplication of rare earth resource in detail. The paper analyzes the inside and outsideenvironment and the international competition ability of China's rare earth industryusing economic and managerial theory. Then, the paper presents the problems that therare earth industry faces in national level, industrial level and company level. They arethe imperfection of managerial system;serious environment pollution;the slipping ofexport price due to excess of supply over demand caused by the unbalance betweenproduction and selling;the urgent demand of application exploitation;so manyenterprises in this field which decentralize so much and most of them are too small toform scale;a big unbalance between production and selling resulted from blindnessproduction of many factories.Finally, the paper proposes the suggested countermeasures to develop China's rareearth industry strategically, pointing out the specific measures that can be taken bynational level, industrial level and company level.The author of this paper was a businessman working for an import and exportcompany, engaging in the export of rare earth products, experienced the floating priceof rare earth products, has special feeling with the rare earth industry, concerns aboutthe development of China's rare earth indurstry very much. The concept that somerare earth products are co-product and there is a structural unbalance of rare earthproduction presented in the paper can be used for reference in researching thecontradiction between the supply and the demand of rare earth products.
