Coal is the main energy of our country, and the foundation of the national energysecurity and economic security as well, after entering the new century, the quickdevelopment of the national economy has stimulated the high growth in energy trades,such as the coal trade, etc.. The principle of the new times is to be "people first", toestablish overall, coordinate, sustainable development view, and to construct theharmonious society, which has put forward the new request for the coal trade.Concerning the special surroundings and conditions of H Group Company, this thesisapplies the theory and method of making development strategy to the systematic researchon the problems of the development strategy of the company. There are six chapters in this thesis. Firstly, it introduces the research backgrounds,and describes briefly the basic theory of strategic management, and then puts forward thebasic thoughts and method. Secondly, it introduces briefly the current situation of thecoal trade, its problems, and its future demand as well. Thirdly it introduces theconditions of H Group Company, then it finds out analysis and evaluation about theinternal and external circumstances of the company, then it finds out the developmentopportunity and its threat, makes its own superiority and inferiority clear. This thesisapplies the SWOT method analysis, and by the Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP)methods, evaluation from external factors, evaluation from internal factors and etc, to thequantitative analysis of the opportunities, threats, strengths and weaknesses as well, italso makes several alternatives strategic programs, each of them is analyzed. The paperdetermine the development strategy for the company in three aspects. Finally, it putsforward a series of counter measures for the implement the strategy.Directed by the scientific development view, and based on the research and analysis,this thesis puts forward that the key of the company development strategy lies inproposing energy, carrying out product development, and pluralistic development andgrouping development to bring about the "cost –leading" strategic principle.
