Wuhan is one of developed cities in our country which the industry layout is reasonable and the development potential is huge. Neither from the traditional industry nor to the new technical industry, Wuhan has the certain disparity when comparing with the developed cities in our country or the same level cities in develpped countries. Therefore, if Wuhan wants to realize the technological leapfrogging, the key is to choose a practical and feasible technological leapfrogging mode. This research just studies the actual operation pattern of technological leapfrogging by the spiral advancement methodology closely revolving this goal and the researching direction, basing on the existing research foundation, tries to have more feasibility and more easily to be operated, so that to provider some valuable contents to solve our industry technological leapfrogging strategic problems, at the same time the fundamental research also has the certain innovation and the development significance to technological leapfrogging.Basing on consulting the domestic and foreign literatures relatively and deeply study on them, and the research on the technological development condition of three pillar industries (photoelectron communication industry, steel and iron industry, and automobile industries) in Wuhan, the paper tries hard to study deeply on the technological leapfrogging mode in line with the principles of innovation and realism. First it carried out a clear concept to technological leapfrogging;then, it clearly puts forward four primary technological leapfrogging modes (independent, introduction, cooperation, and purchase) basing on the technical innovation;further it analyzes the implementation process of technological leapfrogging from the sight of system science, and it considers the technological leapfrogging is a self-reproduction system which was constructed by seven key elements(information, knowledge, technology, talents, capital, market, management), and its effective advancement strategy is the SPIPRO methodology;at the same time, it considers that the realization of technological leapfrogging depends on the synchronization of management leapfrogging, and it proposes the double helix technological leapfrogging mode according to the above analysis;at last it puts forward concrete technology-leapfrogging modes and the implementation strategy to one of Wuhan's newly emerging industries (photoelectron) and two traditional industries (automobile, steel and iron) according to the reality of each industry basing on the sufficient theory research.The main research results of the paper inducts as follows: 1. explicitly pointes out the technological leapfrogging belongs to the technical innovation strategy category;2. considers the technological leapfrogging is a self-reproduction system which was constructed by seven key elements (information, knowledge, technology, talents, capital, market, management), and its effective advancement strategy is the precession methodology;3. Clearly divides technological leapfrogging into four basic modes: independent, introduction, cooperation, and purchase;4. creatively proposes the technology-management double helix advancement technological leapfrogging mode;5. proposes the technological leapfrogging modes and the implementation strategy with the certainly actual reference value to three pillar industries of Wuhan.
