With the globalization trend of international economy, the foreign direct investment and the rapid development of multinational companies exert more and more important influence on China's economy; hence, it is strategically imperative to study on China's direct investment in foreign countries theoretically and academically.Undoubtedly, FDI plays more and more important role in the international political and economical pattern nowadays. Hence, China's overseas enterprises should plan reasonable international investment from the angle of effectively integrating international resources and mastering favorable chances to observe the global market.In recent years, the economic relationship between America and China attracts much attention from the economists worldwide, the case study of American manufacturing on the industry & location selection of China's direct investment in foreign countries is targeted on the study of the developing countries' direct investment in the developed countries. This paper makes series of studies on China's direct investment in American manufacturing industry in order to explore the question of the industry & location selection China's direct investment in foreign countries, illustrating the history and present situations of China's direct investment in American manufacturing, analyzing the investment environments with the factors such as market, natural resources andfundamentals, political system, technological power, labor quality as well as the relationship between the two countries, investigating on the incentives why China's overseas enterprises invest in American manufacturing, and thinking deeply about the question of the industry & location selection on the foundation of collecting and processing effective data with the measurements such as export scale and industrial competitive power.
