Research On China's Textile And Clothing Exports After The Implementation Of ATC

After ten years implementation of ATC, world textile and clothing trade entered into free-trade period, also called post-quota period. As a big country of textile and clothing product and trade country, China is more important and become the focus of the world market. Many models have been made to simulate the future of China's textile and clothing, and the results showed that china is the major beneficiary of the release of quota. But these simulation results cannot be used as a forecast. So, it is of certain practical meamng to study in the relation of quota and the export of China's textile and clothing in a positivistic way.This paper reviews the implementation of the first there steps of ATC, and concludes some relationship between quota release and export of China's textile and clothing. At the same time, analyzes the trend of export competition and the export environment. Then, prospects the export future of China textile and clothing on the bases of each former chapter's conclusion.Major conclusions as follows: China is one of beneficiaries from the quota release, and the effect of "export boom" can last for about two years; The export competition becomes stronger after the release of quota, and will not turn to weak in the short term; and then, the export of china's textile and clothing will increase rapidly. But, the export environment is not optimistic because of the safeguard measures and the preferential arrangement of developed countries. So, in the post-quota era, the scale of China's textile and clothing export will become larger, but it also will be diminished if China cannot deal with trade disputes efficiently.
