The global competition among enterprises in modern societyis sharpening with the consumer demand being carried todiversified and individualized development. A grim challengeis issued to their traditional management mode. But there isnothing they can find in their old management thought to meetthe needs of the updated form of competition, faced with abuyer's market rapidly changing beyond prediction when thereare sudden variations in the competition environment forenterprises, steady consumption standards of customers andwild increase in the uncertainty of market demand. Thecompetition among enterprises is currently revealed in how tomeet the market demands with a quick response, for theirconstantly changing variousness. It is difficult for anenterprise by the traditional competition mode to organizeproduction resources and deliver goods and services to thecustomers. The focus of future rivalry among enterprises willbe upon those dominant positions underlined by the supply chainmanagement such as quick-reflection of market demand,strategic management, high flexibility, low risk andcost-benefit target.Wide interests of the scholars both at home and abroad havebeen immediately aroused as in the LP (Lean Production) modesince its advancement in 1990s. Many of them believe that itwill certainly be the mainstream mode of production for the 21stcentury.The LP mode is an office procedure applied to a modernenterprise, the core thinking of which is, by globaloptimization, to put the production factors possessed by theenterprise to rational allocation and use, eliminate anyemployment and resources with no value added in the wholeproductive process, devote attention to "perfectlysatisfactory", build up enterprises'adaptability tomultielement market changes, and obtain better economicresults.This paper expounds the application of some ideas of theLP mode to the production run of our enterprise, ESG, MotoralaTianjin, by analyzing the birth, features and way of thinkingof the LP mode, understanding its technique and, linking it withour practice.
