At present, in the knitting industry especially in the hosiery manufacturing, the orderdelivery accuracy is very low. Although delivery basically reach, which is salesmen’conservative, or factory orders is simply not enough. In the other words, factory has not reacha predetermined capacity at all. During socks manufacturing, human use is more, the laborpower is higher. The actual data indicate, about half of the process is finished by hand,especially in the production much impact for the production cycle, production line balance,efficiency gain and quality stability. On the other hand, sock has many characteristics, such assize,color,seasonal,image.order quantity, delivery and so on. Most of the time, the left socksin the last order can not use the new order,which cause the defective socks in the warehousemore and more over time, and the resulting waste phenomenon will increase the order cost.This paper analyzes the present production line of Zhejiang JOS Knitting Co,.Ltd,. byapplying line balance, One-Piece Flow, workshop optimize layout in the productionworkshop, achieve the below goals step by step:I Raising the production line balance, reasonable using of the exiting manpower resource,to maximize the production efficiency.II Improving the workshop location arrangement, reducing the waste of human in theprocess of transport, alleviating production bottlenecks, Effectively increasing the velocityof material and semi-finished products, reducing inventory, and shortening the productioncycle. Also, these appropriate changes can at least indirectly increase production by10%peryear, will greatly enhance the existing delivery accuracy.
