Research On Development Strategies Of The Port Logistics In China Based On SWOT Analysis

With the development of international market integration and the trend of global economy, the modern logistics industry is booming because of the growing amount of international trade. As the combination points of domestic and foreign trade, ports are hubs and nodes in global supply chain which play an extremely important role in the modern logistics system. Port logistics is in the forefront of China's logistics industry, and has much developing scope.Because of the lack of related experience, China's port logistics has not yet establish a complete system for development at present. Though port logistics has its own unique advantages, it has interior problems in many aspects which need to be modified. We should find out proper methods to remove those obstacles and help to develop port logistics quickly.This thesis uses SWOT analysis method to make a comprehensive analysis of port logistics in China. It finds out 4 cross-portfolio development strategies on the basis of both internal and external factors. At present, China's port logistics both have good external opportunities and significant internal weaknesses, so the reverse strategy (WO strategy) would be the most suitable way. We should take WO strategy as a key strategy, make full use of opportunities, and reverse the disadvantages. Finally, this thesis gives some suggestion about how to take WO strategy into real action.
