Study Of Citizen Water Price Based On Sustainable Development Theory

In our country problem of lacking of water resources have been gradually getting more serious. Due to the existing problems, increasingly people are paying more attention to the study of the costs involved in sustainable water supply. In order to efficiently make use of water resources and eventually achieve continuity in its future usage, the concept of sustainable water prices should be found. This dissertation will further investigate water prices, which are related to sustainable water resources.Firstly, this study will introduce the existing water resources in this nation. It will also point out that the current problems are derived from the management of water resources. It will find out whether or not the main cause of these problems comes from the unfair water prices. Secondly, this study will reveal the developing process of water prices in this nation. The relevant policy on water prices will also be given.Thirdly, based on the price theory of market economies, this study will find out a suitable water price mechanism according to the nature of the water industry and market. As a result, a suitable water price will be attained to match our nation's current situation.After analyzing the relationship between the factors which caused water price fluctuation and the water price which is related to sustainable water resources, this study concludes that the water price attached to the sustainable water resource, which will be generated through the impact of these factor's movements. Based on this theory, models used to calculate the suitable water price will be created. With the help of the models and the relevant data obtained from the market research, one city's water price can be evaluated in order to achieve water resource sustainability.The important aspects in this dissertation: According to the balance between water market heed and supply, relevant theory and definition related to the water price is given to match the continuous water resource development;Models used to calculate water price are created to keep the balance between water supply and water needs;Examples are provided to demonstrate that an appropriate water price can be adopted to support the sustainability of water resources.
