Since 1990s, some enterprises were difficult to adapt in economy transition and structure transformation, a large number of which had been closed. It appeared the new poverty groups in city, whose main body was the layoffs. Urban poverty was increasingly to be a severe problem. Government took all-around urban anti-poverty actions, indubitably became the main body of urban anti-poverty. With the United Nations and international development organizations implementing anti-poverty plan in China, this concept come to be reflected and questioned in academe and practice. People begin to use one or more interaction to view poverty. And realize that poverty groups are also the main body of development; the poor should also be involved in the urban anti-poverty. Basing on this idea, through the research of layoffs'social support network in Changchun, I reveal the function of social support network of the poor in Chinese urban anti-poverty.First, I inspect the social support network research inside and outside the nation. And find that the findings have enormous differences in different institution and cultural background. Granovetter argues that weak ties serve as the bridges of information; they are more effective than strong ties in occupational attainment process. Lin's social resource theory emphasizes that weak ties have advantage in accessing network resources, and the network members'status determine the number of social resources.
