Research On The Design Of Outdoor Furniture Made Of Recombinant Bamboo

In recent years, our country is short of timber resources, and the scale of the new bamboo material industry is also expanding fast. In addition, people’s living standards is improving in our country, outdoor leisure has become an indispensable part of city life, the development of outdoor furniture then become hot spots. Recombinant bamboo is a kind of new bamboo material which can be used in outdoor environment, but at present, they are more than used for outdoor flooring, building facades, and need to enlarge its application scope urgently. This paper mainly study the application of recombinant bamboo in outdoor furniture, and make a systematic study on the material performance of recombinant bamboo, the design requirements of outdoor furniture, and the suitable design strategy of bamboo outdoor furniture.Based on the recombinant bamboo outdoor furniture design as the main content, this paper summarizes the function of outdoor furniture and requirement to the materials, the relation among the people, outdoor furniture, and outdoor environment, and production and application status quo of recombinant bamboo. And it summarizes the outdoor furniture material types, different furniture characteristics on the conditions of different material and different outdoor environmental. And analyses the design direction of outdoor furniture in the future, and the basic performance of physical and mechanical properties, durability properties, processing and surface visual, tactile, economy, environmental protection, etc, which are to determine whether it can be used for furniture material, and summarizes the adaptability of recombinant bamboo used in the manufacture of outdoor furniture. In combination with other similar principles and methods of product design, this paper raises the design strategy of recombinant bamboo outdoor furniture, and proposes to highlight the characteristics of it, and express the reality function of outdoor furniture, and it is very necessary that combination method applied in recombinant bamboo outdoor furniture model design. Within the scope of the recombinant bamboo allow processing, through the color and texture feature, bamboo and wood culture, to reflect the characteristics of recombinant bamboo; Through the combination with other outdoor materials and integrated with the environment, to conform to the design requirements of outdoor furniture and development direction, on this basis to maintain the integrity with environment; Through linear, gradient, symmetry, surrounded and scattered combination and other combination forms to design, and express formal beauty of furniture model reasonably.Finally, based on the design strategy of recombinant bamboo outdoor furniture as theoretical guidance, this paper has carried on the furniture design practice along the Yueyang Dongting Lake sight and Shanghai City Community, which can feel the theory research deeply and also is an experience summary of design practice.The study of recombinant bamboo outdoor furniture design, aims to expand the application range of recombinant bamboo,rich types of outdoor furniture, and to save timber resources, adapt to the trend of ecological development.
