The shearer haulage unit is working part that the shearer walks along the coalface. It mainly includes reducer and walking mechanism, and ensures the continuity of cutting coal. The loads on the shearer haulage are extremely complex, and the environment the shearer works is poor. Traditional research methods cannot fully reflect the dynamic characteristics. It will overcome the limitation of traditional methods by virtual prototype technology.In this paper, we will take MG300/682shearer as research object and establish virtual prototype model of its haulage. Firstly, we get the rotational speed of every transmission components and walking speed of the shearer through kinematics simulation in Adams. All the results have compared with theoretical calculations and verify the virtual prototype model of haulage. Build the simple shear model and simulate the shearer walking process without cutting coal, we can obtain the load characteristics. Load the drums and simulate the shearer walking process that the shearer is cutting coal. The loads are not evenly distributed on two walking wheels. Extract the load data of the walking wheel that endures greater force.Add rated load to the termination of shearer haulage and carry out dynamic simulation, the components’speed and meshing force between gears get close to theoretical calculations. Add the load from the walking wheel in simulation of cutting coal and carry out dynamic simulation, get the forces of the various transmission components.Based on all the results of dynamic simulation, analyze the planetary carrier and walking mechanism with finite element. Analysis showed that their strength and stiffness are in allowable range.The research shows that the application of virtual prototype technology in the shearer haulage unit can conveniently and intuitively get mechanical properties of various components. The whole analysis process provides reference method for other parts of shearer and other machines.
