| With the development of economy and society, boiler equipment has been widelyused in various sectors of modern industry, becoming one of the important thermalequipment during national economic development. In the service process of the boiler,we must ensure its safe, reliable and stable operation, or once certain aspects breakdown, it may lead to huge economic losses and even casualties. Therefore, it’snecessary to judge and evaluate the safety of the in-line boilers especially the boilersafter a long running time.In this paper, safety of coal-burning boilers is chosen as the evaluation object. Anaccurate and simple safety evaluation method will be found, and a comprehensivesafety evaluation system for existing coal-burning boilers will be established. Basedon comparing the current common safety evaluation methods, and the characteristicsof coal-burning boilers, the paper chose the method of layer of protection analysisbased on hazard and operability study to conduct safety analysis. By the way ofcombining research and on-site survey, this paper summed up the risk factors that mayarise among the coal-burning boilers’ operation. After analysis, four pipe leakageaccidents, water level faults and fire-off accidents are more likely to occur in thetypical incidents. The paper summed up the phenomenon when the three incidentsoccurred, the causes of the accidents and the protective measures to prevent accidents.Based on the accident scene of the three incidents, it adopts the method of layer ofprotection analysis based on hazard and operability study to establish a safetyevaluation model. The paper uses the established safety evaluation model to conduct a safetyevaluation for a company’s boiler facility. The result shows final risk level of theboiler equipment in three incidents, and gives suggestions for improvement of theaccidents on the high level. The result shows that the evaluation model is simple, and has good scalability, wide applicability. As a method of quantitative evaluation, it makes up for theshortcomings of previous studies, and is helpful for our imperfect boiler safetymanagement situation. |
