Natural gas is a multi-component mixture, the majority of which is methane, in additionto hydrogen sulfide, carbon dioxide, nitrogen, water and trace amounts of inert gases. Naturalgas exploited from deposits includes certain non-hydrocarbon impurities, such as hydrogensulfide, carbon dioxide and organic sulfides, which will cause huge corrosion of pipeline andequipments with the presence of water and incur severe environmental damage. The removalof hydrogen sulfide, by which hydrogen sulfide is transformed into sulfur, is commenly usedin natural gas industry. This paper reviews relevant informations of natural gasdesulfurization project, including project overview, process conditions, project station,meteorology condition, public and ancillary utilities. Based on public safety incidents and thecause analysis of incidents, the possible dangers, the risk degree of hazard substances andfactors are analyzed. Preliminary hazard analysis of the natural gas desulphurization projectidentified the major risk inherent hazards and material. The safety checklist and accidentsafety precautions are constructed then.
