Continuous annealing line is the rear procedure of cold rolled products, which plays acrucial role to improve the performance of cold rolled products. At the same time, becauseit has such advantages as high efficiency, low product cost, high product quality andproduct diversification, it has been widely promoted and applied in the world.During theprocess of continuous annealing, the stability of strip steel coiling tension will exert agreater impact on the internal structure and mechanical property of the strip steel. Howeverthe factors influencing the strip steel coiling tension depend mainly on the running speed ofthe motor and real-time roll diameter values of the drum.This dissertation studies the calculation method of real-time roll diameter values of thedrum. It also analyzes the principle of coiling tension control system and the controlmethods of tension,and discusses several control methods of indirect tension. In thisdissertation, some simulations were realized by modeling curl DC motor, designing thecurrent regulator and speed regulator in the double-loop speed control system and usingconventional PID to control coiling indirect tension with the constant linear velocity. Butthe simulation result cannot achieve satisfactory dynamic response and stability. Becausethe coiling tension control system belongs to nonlinear time-varying system without beingable to establish accurate mathematical model, the dissertation incorporates the idea offuzzy control into the control system. According to the rules of expert experience, the fuzzyPID controller in the coiling tension control system with constant linear velocity wasdesigned.This kind of controller has no dependence on the controlled object, so itsrobustness is better. The simulation results show that fuzzy PID control can reduce theovershoot and improve the response speed and steady-state characteristics, compared withthe conventional PID.The method of indirect tension control in which DC speed regulating device6RA70,frequency converter and the programmable controller S7-300act as the core wasrealized, and made compensation to dynamic torque. The monitoring system based on theconfiguration software WinCC and the programmable controller S7-300was designed. Theupper computer connects the programmable controller through Ethernet and uses TCP/IPprotocol as the communication protocol. The monitoring system can realize real-time monitoring of field equipment running status, including data acquisition, parameteradjustment, trend change, information alarm and other functions.
