In the recent years, there is rapid development for our solid wire and no muchdifference with foreign same kind solid wire at the surface quality and physical and chemicalproperty of solid wire, but there still have distance at processing property. In order toshorten this gap, except continually improving preparative technique and enhancing theresearch for weldingmetallurgy, also need set up a set of checkout equipment, which canquantificationally, scientifically and accurately assess the performance of solid wire.In order to assess the stability of feeding wire, we take the resistance offeeding wire as the main research object. For this target, we design a suit of testequipment, which fix feeding wire machine, sensors and specially designed feeding wirechannel on the same table. As we now, there is resistance between feeding wire softchannel and pass electric connection during the wire feeding process, and the anti-forceof this resistance pass to the channel by wire, and force the channel move forward, at thesame time, the disk of pass wire channel contact with the tip of sensor as soon asresistance will be transmitted out. The data is transferred to the PC by the secondaryinstrument, then disposed and analyzed by software, finally getting the score of thestability for feeding wire.By a number of test, we get the following assessment for ER50-6:The wire have best surface copper plating layer and moderate hardness, whichscore is less than80, the stability of feeding wire is good;The wire have better surfacecopper plating layer and hardness which conforms with the basic wire feed requirements,which score is between80and120, the stability of feeding wire is common;The wirehave worst surface copper plating layer and low hardness (too soft or too hard), whichscore is greater than120, the stability of feeding wire is bad.
