After reviewing the developing progression and present situation, under the national quality standards, a computer-based testing device for welding wire-feedingsystem was developed based on a deeply researching into the affecting factor to wirefeeding-system feeding stability.Improving conventional testing methods, the device got the wire-feed-speed signal by using digital sensor-photoelectric encoder instead of steel rule and stop watch. At the same time, stress sensor and Hall sensor were used to measure the feeding resistance and voltage. The device hardware processed the signals above to meet the requirement of the data-sampling card-AID card.Using Object-Oriented programming language- C++ language, based on the environment of Chinese Win95 developed the software. Not only it had powerful and applied interface, could be operated easily, but also gave the user many intuitionistic and advanced tools for data graphic or form visualisation and report generation.Experimenting with one type of wire feeder, all the technical parameter was tested and the test result was plotted to a testing report. Moreover, a deeply analysis and compare was made based on the experiment with different welding torch of five diverse companies.Experiment result showed that: the device testing result was coincided with practical situation. The testing device could give a comprehensive and precise testing result, and could be used as one powerftil tool for wire-feeding-system manufacture and research.
