Finite Element Analysis Of DDS Hydraulic Mud Gun Mechanical System

The iron-smelting furnace equipment contains mud gun and tapping machine, and the function is to open and close the BF tap hole. which not only has an influence on the BF normal operation, but also causes serious trouble when the function is broken.With the rapid development of iron-smelting technique, the hydraulic mud gun has replaced electric mud gun step by step. As hydraulic mud gun has advantages in thrusting more mud, flexible and easy to operate. Since the reform and the opening-up, different types of hydraulic mud gun had been brought in from foreign countries. However many technique problems remain unsolved during the course of technique study and localization process.This thesis think primary fault is the thrusting mud equipment go ahead, on the contrary turning gun fall back. So that abnormal maintaining pressure and unstable flow effect mud’s quality. Once oil-return backpressure isn’t rejected, the leak in hydraulic cylinder will lead to useless maintaining pressure of non-return valve. Sudden changes in speed and direction for the liquid in the system tube can bring about sharp increase of pressure. That is to say hydraulic impact occurs. Manual reversing valve’s impact ability is too bad to control the hydraulic impact of retreating gun. The hydraulic mud gun consists of turning gun cylinder and its relative mechanical components, so there may be disjunction brought by hydraulic system and mechanical system, also many other factors.This thesis focus on making a summary of common faults for a certain type hydraulic mud gun. Starting with mechanical factors, to analyze free condition and repression condition of the mud gun, and make numerical simulation on different operation conditions. Also make the simplified generation of3D model with CATIA, handle the finite element analysis by Hyperworks, calculate with MD Nastran in order to discover the rules on different operation conditions and get the method of system analysis and conclusion, which will provide method and theory support for new product design and further study.
