Research On The Design Schedule And Control For The Project Of BG Heating Furnace Reconstruction Project

The project scale, construction standard and the investment scale are determined in the design phase, which is the key links for the investment control. When the project is in design phase, scientific method must be taken to manage the project design. Aiming to the problem how to manage the project design schedule in BG heating furnace transformation project, the research has been done in the paper.Design schedule management requires the project team to develop the schedule based on the objectives of the heating furnace project, during the process of design implementation, actual implementation of the schedule needs to be checked on regular basis, the reasons for the deviation need to be analyzed and schedule needs to be adjusted constantly until completion of the design to manufacturing. Based on the above considerations, this paper is dedicated to the study of applying modern management theory and methods in the heating furnace rebuilding project, to ensure timely completion of projects design and achieve project objectives. In this paper, a combination of theory and practice of the method are utilized, by applying the theory and methodology of schedule management in heating furnace rebuilding project, the analysis and practice have been conducted in planning, implementation and control during the process of implementing project, schedule management is discussed through the development and control of the project schedule. During the process of project implementation, by using project schedule management knowledge, make the plan and schedules, tracking the progress of implementation, Risk analysis and control,and using all possible ways and measures to adjust the project schedule and shorten the design period, the design project’s planned duration could be managed within the pre-determined target.Firstly, a basic theory of the schedule plan and control has been introduced in the project management, according to the example of the Baosteel2050heating furnace. By using WBS, distribution of responsibility matrix, diagram of Gantt, a schedule plan which is fulfilling the project demands can be established.The project schedule plan must be controlled and refined in the phase of the project implementation, the appeared problem must be solved immediately, when the project is under control, the plan must be adjusted, the key links of the plan should be monitored and risk should be analyzed in order to adopt corresponding method.According to the research theory of the project schedule management, and the study of the project design schedule and control in the BG2050heating furnace transformation project, a better way how to complete a project is provided in the similar large-scale project, by using design and management ideas. I hope this paper could provide reference for other heating furnace rebuilding projects in future.
