Research On Schedule Management Of Research And Development Project On High Durability Electric Water Heater Steel In BG&HE

Project schedule management is one of the main nine contents of the Project Management Knowledge System,and has direct relationships with the profit and success of projects.It is an important work to ensure the realization of the overall plan of the project,and to complete projects with high quality and profit.Project schedule management can identify the project management scope and the responsibilities of each member in project organizations,can make the schedule plan for all tasks and the risk preventive plan,can check and update the project schedule so as to ensure the realization of the project.The theories,methods,and development trend on project schedule management had been reviewed.The background of this research is one R&D project for the high durability steel used in electric water heaters provided by BG&HE.The project schedule and the control plan had been developed.Firstly,the background and purpose of the R&D project was introduced.Then,the logic relationships among the jobs in the project were analyzed and the structure of job was built.The workload of each job was estimated.The schedule plan was built with PERT and was optimized.Based on the schedule plan,the plan control system including schedule supervision,control methods and assurance methods was prepared.Finally,as a conclusion,it is possible to realize the project plan and make good use of the project resources if the project schedule plan could be well executed with the efficient management supports.This paper built the project schedule plan,the control plan and the assurance policy for the high durability steel R&D project for the electric water heaters in BG&HE.The plan can support the management,coordination,supervision and examination of the project management in different organization level.Different impact factors on the project had been considered,and the assurance policy on organization,management,economics,and technology have been included.All of these actions can support the success of the project.The schedule plan and the control plan developed for this project would be also helpful to other similar R&D projects in BG&HE companies.
