Section steel is an economical material and has many different types. Because of its excellent sectional mechanical properties,section steel has been widely used in the field of Engineering. With the fast development of economy, small and medium-sized section steel products can not meet the requirement of the market, the demand on high quality heavy section steel is becoming more and more great. As an important subsequent equipment in the processing of section steel production, section straightener also needs to be upgrade into advanced large scale section straightener. In order to develop heavy steel straightener, the research on parameter design, which is the design basis, is a very important research task.This paper is part of the research on1200mm9rollers closed type straightener which is developed by Norther Heavy Industries Group in2012. This9rollers closed type straightener is the largest scaled straightener in China now,which fill the blank of this size straightener in domestic and meet the requirement on heavy section steel production. The study of this paper mainly includes the following aspects:(1) Analyze domestic present status of section steel straightening technology and development direction of section straightener. Conclude experiences at home and abroad combined with our enterprise technical competence, and analyze the advantage and disadvantage of different types of straightener.(2) Describe the theories of elastic-plastic bending and straightening,the stress and strain of the material and the curvature changes in the process of elastic-plastic bending of the rolling systematically for the first time. By optimizing the related parameter of the structure, roller diameter,roller distance and roller speed, to provide completed theory basis for the straightener series optimal design.(3) The section straightener parameters is calculated by simple and original method and can not be verified by simulation verification in the past. Now by combining calculation and advanced computer3D simulation technology, using Solid Works software to do the finite element analysis, to solve the problem that can not be verified by simulation verification of straightener parameters, and bring significant economic benefits.
