Research And Development Of River Water Pollution Simulation System Based On C#and ArcEngine

Water is the basis of human life, and river water is extremely important. However, in recent years river water was polluted along with the development of factory and modern agriculture which have improved human life. Therefore, it’s necessary to research on the progress of river water simulation system both on continuous pollution or urgent pollution. Because it could make relevant department make good strategy to improve river environment based on pollution simulation.Traditional water simulation is mainly about data computing simulation, without visual interface, not easily to operate and view. With the development of computer technology, and GIS(Geographical Information System), the application of GIS in those areas connected with geography has captured much attention, and some applications have been put into production. Among GIS application, water simulation is a very important part, because hydrology contains clear geographic feature. So it’s applicable and useful for GIS application into river water simulation. But it needs a solution of storage of water environment data and some other special relative software models. These are exactly what this paper is about to solve by combining GIS and water simulation, showing how to store data effectively and simulate procedurally.Development of river water simulation system by GIS technology is mainly about choice of river simulating math model, storage of spatial data and attribute data, GIS-extension software and programming. River simulating math model is usually made up of math and physical simulation, and math simulation is more often chosen, for its advantage of simple and efficiency. On data storage, spatial data is stored on spatial database while attribute data is stored on common database. About GIS basic software, ArcGIS is the leader of the world on GIS technology. Further more, it’s professional on second development containing a lot of programming packages. Therefore, river water simulation is developed based on C#and ArcGIS Engine. Classified by dimension, models consists one-dimensional simulation, two-dimensional simulation and three-dimensional simulation through Matlab functions. It could be useful for hydrology department to simulate continuous river pollution and urgent water pollution.
