Research On The Development Ways Of Xi'an Tang Paradise

Theme park is called as one of the three great trends in current and future international tourism development by World Tourism Organization. It roots in early amusement parks and its predecessor can trace back to ancient Greece, Rome, for example, archery, hunting, athletics and so on. The concept of "theme park" was raised from the success of Walter's Disney Park in 1955. Since then, theme park has been widely accepted and identified by people as a conceptual tourism form and then gradually spread to the whole work. The theme park already has the history of half a century in Europe and USA since it came into being and business operators have accumulated many experiences and lessons. Comparing to Europe and USA, Chinese theme parks have only experienced a short history since it was brought to China as a new tourism form at the end of 1980s. Chinese theme parks have experienced three development phases, exploration of recreation direction, modeling of shape concept and construction of tourist destination. There have been many problems in this process, such as unclear market orientation, single and repeated theme option, identical expression form and so on, which affects the healthy development of theme parks.The theme park of historical culture is the most important subclass in the development history and its establishment must be basic on profound cultural context, and it is a new-type resort of historical culture with the combination of amusement park and historical culture. This paper selects Xian Furong Park of Tang Dynasty as a subject, which is a typical theme park of culture in Tang Dynasty, to explore the development process of theme park and discuss the development mode suitable for Xian Furong Park hoping to create stable tourist flow and increase the rate of revisit, make high-quality customer experiences, improve the abilities of the Park in sustainable development and profit-gaining, and enlarge influence. Meanwhile, this research will help to explain the difficult situations of Chinese theme parks of historical culture and provide referable development strategies for its operation and development.Basic on large amount of literatures about theme parks, this paper adopts literature analysis, case analysis and questionnaire survey to make a fundamental analysis and study on theme parks defining its concept, characteristics and development process. Basic on this, author summarized the development status and trend of Furong Park of Tang Dynasty, experiences and lessons from development, analyzed the negative factors and then proposed the development ways for Furong Park of Tang Dynasty.
