The Integrated Management Of Complex Products And Systems

Today, a large number of CoPS projects are inefficient or failure which due to the integrators lack of coordination, strategy and project management capabilities. So the characteristics of CoPS presented greater challenges to the traditional project management approach. Meanwhile, CoPS innovation which manifests the integration, the complication and cooperation of the enterprise technological innovation, is the important innovation form in the stakeholders'world. But the stakeholder method also is the effective method that system integrator promote the CoPS overall three objectives and meets others'requests. In view of this, we research the CoPS integrated management behavior from the stakeholder perspective using case study approach. This cultivates project management and coordinated cooperation ability of CoPS innovation to the enterprise, and furthermore helps to enhance management to achieve CoPS three objectives, which has certain practical significance. Firstly, we identified the three dimension of CoPS integrated management:process dimension, management elements and stakeholder dimension. Then, we get the concept model of CoPS integrated management involved three integrated elements:interface, information and knowledge based on literature and the three objectives:quality, cost and schedule. Secondly, we analyzed three integrated elements with interests and power of stakeholder by Freeman. And at last, we obtained the conclusion below from cross-case analysis between the UF ERP project and Zhejiang CTT CDN project, modifying the conceptual model.The paper concludes as follows. Firstly, deepen the objects of integrated management analyzed by the original documents by cross-case analysis. Obtained the main role of integrated management—system integrators, the target role of integrated management that stakeholders—users, policy makers, consultants and technical staff by cross-case analysis. Secondly, we get the relationship between the three integrated elements and stakeholders interests and power.The features of Interface integrated management platform. The stakeholders act on the system integrators through the interface integrated management platform, which is a media for them to express their right and a foundation to achieve their right, key stakeholders decided how much of the effort to pay for the project under the received benefits. Information flow is vector for the rights of stakeholders'expression. Flow of information demand corresponded interests of the stakeholders in the process, and information flow supplied which is the response to the demand flow the exercise of power to the process. The knowledge integration is the ultimate goal of integrated management. The system integrator integrated information on the Interface integrated management platform, and then extracted knowledge integration content from the information integration, which is the purpose of information integration. Through information and knowledge integration, the rights of stakeholders achieve better.
