Mobile phone has been developed as the 5th media followed by newspaper, broadcasting, television and internet ever since the new era those mobile phones were linked to internet:in Feb.1992, NTT Docomo first launched its I-mode mobile phone internet service in Japan and it brought huge success. Both Mobile phone manufactures and operators have paid great attention on mobile internet since then.Nokia, the Giant of mobile telecommunication industry, is the largest mobile phone manufacture in the world. The Finnish company has become the absolute leader of the mobile telecommunication industry within 10 years. Its sales volume and revenue all achieves top 1 for recent years. It creates a miracle in brand development history. In 2006, Nokia market share globally achieved 37%, which was more than twice as Motorola. Nokia also gains the 5th valuable Brand all over the world. (And the only one among top 10 brands which is non-American companies).Nokia announced its merged to Internet Company in 2007. In August 2007, Nokia launched internet service brand:OVI. Meanwhile, Nokia online music store, online games, OVI store were launched. OVI has become a new platform for advertising agencies, potential customers, content providers and widget developers.This thesis analyses how OVI applies in mobile phone internet. It also does some research of new profit model for mobile internet; the author raises some practical suggestions for this new industry in near future.
