China's Equipment Manufacturing FDI Technology Spillover Empirical Study

After reform and opening in 1978, FDI inflow in China. As the technology has a wide range of spillover, the introduction of FDI, multinational corporations and technology diffusion in the subject to cooperate, is the host country access to technology, enhance independent innovation capability of the main channel. However, as the multinational strict control of the technology, so multinational corporations play an effective role of technology spillovers is particularly important.This paper describes the equipment manufacturing industry and the definition of FDI technology spillovers, FDI Technology Spillovers and technology spillovers from FDI presence and influence factors on both sides reviewed the relevant literature; and then confirmed by empirical tests on foreign-funded enterprises China's equipment manufacturing sector in general positive spillover effects exist, that FDI technology spillovers on the productivity of China's equipment manufacturing industry has a catalytic role to improve; then from the ownership of enterprises, the level of industry concentration, industry size, export share, and five R & D investment a perspective on technology spillovers in China equipment manufacturing industry factors affecting the inspection and testing, draw the following conclusions: (1) FDI Spillovers on the state-owned equipment manufacturing enterprises and non state-owned enterprises in the direction of technical efficiency spillovers there are significant differences.(2) industrial agglomeration on technical efficiency spillovers have significant role in promoting, even if the nature of the ownership change, industrial agglomeration still have to promote the role of technology spillovers, but significantly reduced. (3) Export did not significantly increase the state-owned equipment manufacturing industry technical efficiency of China's growth, but on the technical efficiency of non-state enterprises can promote growth. (4) Industry scale and R&D investment increase help to technology spillovers. Finally, at the theoretical and empirical basis, we give some suggestions for China's equipment manufacturing industry to improve the technology spillovers of foreign direct investment.
