From 1990's, our local enterprises begin to introduce ERP management system one after another in order to improve their management level and enhance their market competitive power. But, several years passed, ERP implementation effects can not reach the anticipations for many companies. According to the statistic, the success ratio of ERP implementation in local companies was less than 30%. From the experience of ERP implementation in manufacturing business, the support of BPR is the critical factor. So, the BPR research for ERP implementation in equipment manufacturing industry is necessary. In this field, someone has made large number of researches, but no complete theoretical system was produced.In this paper, through tying up the theory to the practice, the BPR research for ERP implementation in equipment manufacturing industry is carried out through the method of demonstration analysis and normative analysis, and the method of qualitative analysis and quantitative analysis.Starting with enterprise management thoughts relating to ERP and BPR, the theoretical basis and related definitions for the research, the overview of the research status in China and the world for BPR in ERP, and the feasibility and necessity for BPR implementation in ERP are given out.According to the features of equipment manufacturing industry and the requirements of ERP and BPR, the new layer and frame model for the BPR implementation in ERP for equipment manufacturing industry are put forward. By the methods of step by step, overall demonstration and comparative analysis, the main factors of BPR and its technical feasibility of implementation for ERP use in equipment manufacturing industry are given out, and the critical and successful factors of BPR in ERP implementation for equipment manufacturing industry are discussed. Further more, the special implementation method and procedure of BPR are put forward, and based on the assumed implementation model, BPR's implementation keypoints, process transformation design, new process design method, common trouble and trouble shooting of BPR implementation, and the effect testing method for BPR are given out. At last, the final conclusion is obtained after example validation.From the use of BPR along with ERP implementation in equipment manufacturing industry, the enterprise should make BPR plan at strategic level, make analysis to its surroundings, find problems it faces, give employees BPR management thought through the establishments of crisis feeling and common vision, introduce customer orientation, process orientation, team management and supplier chain management into the company in order to rebuild the concept of BPR. On this basis, the enterprise can get process rebuild, including process analysis, diagnosis and design, and change or adjust original management mode, management method, business process, organization structure and enterprise culture, in order to achieve the goal of improving management performance, and create the necessary conditions for the implementation of ERP.
