The Research On Application Of External IT Resources In Hotel

Application of external IT resources represents the continual division of labor in China economics. This application not only optimizes business resources but also improves its core ability. By using the external IT resources, hotels can save costs, increase management efficiency and enlarge competition power. But how should we use the external IT resources and improve the performance of this application?Starting from the theory of external resources application, this paper analyzes the cause of this application from three different angels:resources base, core ability and transaction cost. Combined with the specialty of hotels, the paper also analyzes different modes of purchasing, outsourcing external resources in hotels. By giving specific evidence, the author clarifies the constitution of IT resources in hotels, finds out main factors which may promote or restrain the application.Based on the previous study, the author founds a hypothesis model relating to the degree and performance of the application. Gathering data from sample star hotels the author tests the model by various methods:validity, reliability, analysis of correlation and multiple regression.The author concludes:(1) The influence of the high leaders, and the effect that information technology carries out the strategic target have remarkable impact on the degree of the application of external IT resources in hotels; (2) The power of information technology in the hotel, the partnership with other business and contract details have remarkable impact on the performance of the application of external IT resources in hotels; (3) the degree of the application has remarkable impact on the performance of the application.To improve the performance of the application of external IT resources, this paper points out that the superiors in hotels should change concepts, set up reasonable constitution for all kinds of resources. In the mean time, they should enhance internal management, cooperate with other business, and attach greater importance on the application of external IT resources.This study enriches the research on the application of external IT resources, provides a theoretical basis for the application in hotels. The study also gives suggestions to guide policy-making and improve performance of information construction in hotels.
