International Competitiveness Of China-US Trade In Services Comparison

With adjustment of in dustrial economy structure in world scope,service industry has been mainstay industry for world economic development,intenrational trade in services enhanced its proportion in world trade, the global competitiveness of an economy in services trade has been taken as the symbol of its development level and potenital for future growth.70 years since the 20th century has been the world's industrial development and the emphasis of significant government supports of the service industries, especially to the emerging modern service industry tilt. In contrast, China's emerging service industry, especially the modern service industry development is seriously lagging behind and unable to compete and have an impact on China's future sustainable economic development of a major structural hazards. And as China's accession to WTO, a series of commitments to further deepen the degree of fulfillment, services liberalization was inevitable, the service trade liberalization would be the development of China's service industry must face the reality. Therefore, China's service industry to adapt to changes in world economic development of the situation, how to narrow the gap with developed countries or even overtake them, and how to get rid of inherent difficulties, how to improve the international competitiveness of service industry has become that we must face and resolve the issue.The United States as the world's most developed countries services, its trade in services trade in goods produced by the filling of huge deficits played an important role in the United States and China is a huge surplus in trade in goods and services trade deficit coexist. With the opening up China's service industry "protection arrangements" the end of the Sino-US trade in services will grow rapidly. In this paper, the current world trade in services and services based on the analysis used to construct the import and export data based on the index system of trade in services in China and the United States to make the international competitiveness of empirical estimates, the U.S. international competitiveness of trade in services in general, than China, China's service exports in world markets at a disadvantage relative to the U.S. disadvantage, but the relative disadvantage is slowly reduced, both in the service of competing on export markets is becoming increasingly fierce.On the basis of trade in services theory,a model,in eluding the factors of human-capital,foreign dircet investment and urbanization, is formed to analyze influential variables in international competitiveness of trade in services.The regression outcome indicates that these three variables are of high correlation withinternational competitiveness of trade in services. Then, human-capital is the most crucial importance among the three variables as far as the international competitiveness of trade in services is comcerned.This dissertaiton consists of six chapters. Chapter One introduces the background method and significance of the study. Chapter Two is the analysis of competitive factors. Chapter Three discribes the comparison of the development of trade in services between China and the U.S.Chapter Four analyzes the international competitiveness of trade in services between China and the U.S. Chapter Five constructs the model about three factors which affect the international competiitveness of trade in services.Chapter Six finally gives some suggestions to improve the competitiveness of China's policy recommendations. Chapter Seven is the conclusion.
