The International Background Discussion On Genesis For Dual Economics

The famous American development economist whose name is William A?Lewis rebuilt the theory of dual economics in 1954, which had been reputed high-level abstractness and generality because it described the path about an agricultural country industrialized through only the simple dual economics for the first time.This thoery had been highly praised since it proposed by economists, especially development economists, and Lewis was rewarded the Nobel prize in 1971 for it. Furthermore, when this theory was proposed, the large-scale economic reconstruction rised in almost every developing country, and this theory became not only the theoretical foundation for development economic, but also the guidance tools for the developing country in practice.However, after several decades of development practices in developing countries, the policy in accordance with the theory of dual economic structure didn't bring rapid economic growth, nor corresponding life improvement for the people. Consequently, this paper try to explain the reason how the dual economics developed, and provide theoretic supporting for the theory not work in developing country.By surveying the whole development history of the dual economic structure theory, we can see that all these theories about the dual economic structure based on the Lewis'dual economic theory, that is to say, the dual economic structure phenomenon in the developing country is set to be the basic assumption prerequisite. These theories either proposed more rational idea on the basic of Lewis'dual economic theory, or found out the more complex dual economic structure phenomenon in the developing country. So far, the development economists have been discussing the dual economic structure in the interior of a country or region, and the structure evolution theory in the New Classical Economics illustrates the reason about the dual economic structure worldwide for the first time. In this paper, we try to explain the reason about the dual economic structure from the center-margin angle in the world-system from the open perspective, or the common evolution path from the traditional agricultural country to the industrialized country.For the first place, we try to compare the paths between the original capitalistic countries industrialized in Western Europe in the middle of the eighteenth century and the developing country evaluated the dual economic structure, and come to the international background about the dual economic structure. And then, we construct the theoretical model about the reason how the dual economic structure form on the basic of the New Classical Economics and the world-system theory.
