Freshwater resources are becoming scarce in the world, so Honghu water resources are even more precious. In the past few years Honghu City is in the careful organization of industrial production, strong implementation of the "Industrial City" strategy, and key aquaculture products grow good, economy maintain a high level to grow. However, in the process of economic development the uncoordinated condition will be inevitable which water resources protection encounter economic development, an important issue how to deal with the relations between water resources and economic is placed in front of us and the relevant policy sectors. If Should not handle properly, water resources face more and more weight bearing capacity, will become the bottleneck which is restricting the development of the local economy, while pregnant with severe water crisis. Therefore, Concerned about the status of water resources in Honghu, exploring the influence of water resources in Honghu with the economic development, are of great significance.Honghu water resources and water economic as the research object, summarizes previous research results, apply of comparative analysis and systems analysis methods, make comprehensive analysis and empirical research of the aspect of Honghu water quality, the relationship of wastewater and per capita GDP, the relationship of COD and per capita GDP and so on.The thesis consists of three parts, divided into five chapters.The first part includes chapter I and chapter II. The first chapter describes the negative situation of water resources, proposed study Honghu water resources, and its significant impact on local economy. Meanwhile, domestic and international research on the dynamics of water were analyzed and summarized. Chapter 2 Theoretical Review of water resources, introducing the concept of water resources, natural features and economic characteristics, and content of the water economy, the economic stream of water resources, the economic value of the water resources coupling and some economic theory.The second part includes third and fourth chapters, is the main part of the paper. Chapter 3 describes the Honghu unique natural geography and rich water resources, and on the Honghu sustained economic growth and changes in economic structure in recent years to analyze. Chapter 4, through the creation of charts, classification comparison, take out the gradual worse environment of the water in Honghu, and make an empirical analysis impact on the Honghu local economy with waste water emissions and in the COD of and emissions. the conclusions is which the economic development in Honghu cost the water environment. The third part is the fifth chapter, is a summary of the thesis.
