| Currently, China is experiencing a social transformation era which shifted from populous nation to economic giant, even the economic power. Due to overemphasize the economic benefit, much regional development emerged. What is more, regional economic difference is also one of the hot topic and key problems.Chongqing municipality is situated in the southeast of China, its economic development is in a low level. Great achievements have been made in macro economic development since the establishment of Chongqing municipality in 1997, large gap exist in different regions. Therefore, it affected the realization of Chongqing municipality's urban construction and harmonious society. The paper conducted a comprehensive research on regional economic difference in Chongqing municipality from the perspective of empirical analysis, so that some theoretical foundations and policy advice on regional economic development can be proposed for the central and western provinces, even for all over the country. First, the author summed and analyzed the related theories on regional difference so as to select research index and methods; secondly, through selecting living index(including urban per capita disposable income and the net per capita income of rural residents) and output indicator(referring to GDP), the author analyzed the regional economic difference in forty districts and "one circle two wings" zone using standard deviation, coefficient of variability and ESDA (Exploratory Spatial Data Analysis). According to the results, we can find that the regional economic difference has contractible tendency, but different times qualified distinctive characteristics. In the end, the author analyzed the reasons which caused the current situation of regional economic difference in Chongqing municipality. The finds can be found in the following part.Firstly, through calculation of standard deviation and range, absolute difference in Per Capita GDP, urban per capita disposable income and the net per capita income of rural residents is becoming large in major economic regions and forty countries, what is more, the trend of difference becomes obvious. The difference in countries is larger than the difference in regions.Secondly, through calculation of standard deviation and range, the relative difference of three research index which is mentioned above has contractible tendency, but the tendency is not obvious. Thirdly, the author constructed the spatial weight matrix through the application of ESDA so as to conduct autocorrelation analysis of whole and local spatial from the perspective of Per Capita GDP, urban per capita disposable income and the net per capita income of rural residents. The research findings indicated that the economic spatial difference among countries has contractible tendency, both in global and local places, however, it does not proved that the economic development in Chongqing municipality is in an overall, healthy and coordination situation, on the contrary, this is the performance of regional spatial difference, that is, economic developed areas gathered constantly to one circle, nd the backward areas grouped together just like two wings. This caused the contractible tendency in global and local difference among countries. |
