The food safety is an important problem of the whole world, it closely relates to people's nonnal life and the stable development of country. The food safety has always been valued by China, Food Safety Law was promulgated and implemented in 2009, it fully demonstrates that the food safety supervision are constantly adjusting and improving. But in recent years, with the continuous development of our country and increasing of the risk factors, various food safety accidents occur frequently in China, people's health and credibility of the government are injured seriously, at the same time, some maladies of the food safety supervision are exposed. In fact, the food safety supervision needs a number of departments to work together, and the interrelationships of supervision departments determine the effectiveness of the food safety supervision. Therefore, only all supervision departments maintain cooperative relations, communicating and coordinating with each other in the supervision process, the quality and efficiency of the food safety supervision can be improved, make sure the food safety accidents will not happen again. This study, based on the situation of the food safety supervision in China, introduces Seamless Government theory, analyses the accident of the melamine milk powder, points out the shortcomings which exist in the interrelationship of the food safety supervision departments, analyses the reasons, and points out the advices of how to improve the interrelationship of the food safety supervision departments. Hope that with innovation of the big department system, we can achieve the seamless supervision of the food safety, make sure that people have healthy living, and build a solid foundation for Harmonious Society.
